Here’s the running diary based on choice tweets and live updates provided on a pro bono basis from certain local law undergraduates from last Saturday’s Singapore National Round of the Philip C Jessup Moot 2016. We will not be providing details of the moot problem as there are more important matters to get to. From recollection, we only remember some dude being detained unlawfully (or lawfully depending on which State you are), some mysterious Frost Files getting leaked online and various other issues of international law too heavy for a Saturday morning (any morning for that matter).

TLDR, we WON.

The Sapience and Wisdom of the Law a.k.a The Perspicacious Power Ranger Victor Yao, The Virtuoso Seeker of the Golden Snitch Viktor Krum/Victor Ludorum, The Lethal Litigator and Enigmatic Espionage Paladin Simaa, The Enunciator Extraordinaire Joshua ‘Smoother Than A Fresh Jar of Skippy’ Hiew, The Crown Prince of this Graduating Batch & Mythological Mooting Lege-Phenom Hairul Hakkim

But before we begin, a week earlier…

Chaos and anarchy with the queue and ticket collection for Jessup tickets… As Coach Lei Theng said, “I think that the NUS Jessup teams can be proud of the type of support shown to them by their peers and hope that you can continue to support them.” #VeryExciteMuchAnticipate

FINALLY, GAME DAY ARRIVED.

Not everyone of us mere mortals may know this but the names of the States in the Jessup moot problem are always given intricate planning and serious thought. Why? Because moots are all about enunciation and articulation (and not about the law) so the teams that are best able to say “AmesTOnia” or “RIESland~” usually wins. From last weekend’s result announcement on overheard, Hiew probably know the result.

Some had sacrificed precious time to be there for our team…
